About

The Oakland County Traditional Dance Society was founded in 1991 to promote traditional music and dance in the Southeastern Michigan area. We are a 501(c)(3) non profit and a Group Affiliate of the Country Dance and Song Society. Our monthly contra dances at First United Methodist Church of Troy (see map below) feature great callers and live music. Most dances are on the 4th Saturday of the month and start at 8 pm sharp with lessons for beginners at 7:30 pm. We also sponsor jam sessions just before the dance.

Starting in July, our dances will start at 7:30 pm with lessons for beginners at 7 pm. Jam sessions will begin at 6 pm.

To contact the Oakland County Traditional Dance Society send us an email. We will promptly respond.
